Archives For December 2010

I’ve never heard about this model before, but apparently she’s doing ok. Her name is Katie Fogarty, born in 1992 (that makes her just 18 years old) and here you see her in a photothat appears in Harper’s Bazaar UK for January 2011.

I don’t know what was it about this photo, but I found it quite appealing. I think it’s her eyes, or the way she holds the flower.

If you’re interested to know about Katie Fogarty, go visit her profile page at New York Magazine, or the one at models.com. There’s also a thread at the fashion spot, where they’ve been discussing her career since July 2008; I found it interesting to browse through some of the 71 pages of that thread and see how she grew as a model.

Want more? watch Katie Fogarty falling at Prada Summer 2009. It must’ve been really hard to walk in those shoes.

Oh, and if you’re the social type, follow her on twitter.

Bonus: beautiful models falling down.

Now that I think about it

It’s cold. It even seems like the world is black and white today. The only thing I can hear right now is the rain outside (thinking about it, maybe I should put some music, right?).

I wonder if you’d be so kind to read this and leave a comment. Let me know if you like this site or not. I don’t want to feel like I’m doing this in vain. Am I?

Anyway, I don’t care, so today, as usual, I’ll share a cool photo with you, whoever you are. Check it out:

The photo is by Yana Scherbakova and the model Aleksandra. This is such a great portrait, and the girl is so beautiful. And I have to say, there’s something cool about photos in black and white. I love them. So, I really like this photo.

Eyes and hair

I can’t avoid it. I love fashion photography

fbr017 The photo above was taken by Taylor C. Scott, an eighteen year old aspiring fashion photographer from Brisbane, Austratlia. And I have to say, she’s already pretty damn good, so she’s very talented. Want proof? Check out her flickr gallery.

There’s another cool fashion portrait I wanted to share with you today, which is posted below. I don’t know who the model or the photographer are, so if you know, let me know. I found it in some tumblr site, and I thought it was a great photo. The model is stunning; I love her hair and her look (and maybe her legs).

fbr018 I know two photos are not enough, but that’s all I have today. Maybe you want to go spend some time at the gallery, or go outside and play.

On another subject, I freaking love The Walking Dead series. It’s so sad we have to wait a year for the second season. I can’t wait… (fashion photography and tv series about zombies…hmmm…nice combination). And as I already starting writing random, let me say one more thing: I watched Merantau yesterday, and I liked it. It’s a cool indonesian action movie. It reminded me a bit of Ong Bak, which was an awesome movie. So if you’re interested, why not buy the Merantau blu-ray or the Ong-Bak blu-ray (you’d be enjoying some cool asian action movies, and buying via the amazon links I provide, you’d be helping me keeping the blog alive).

That’s it. Enjoy!

Bonus: Yu Tsai, photographer.

I watched a classic italian horror film yesterday. It’s La Chiesa, a 1989 movie directed by Michele Soavi and produced by Dario Argento. The plot is simple to follow: some templar knights kill an entire village that is supposed to be cursed, and a church is built over their dead bodies to prevent the evil to escape. Flash forward to present day, where several events happen that result in the demons finally appearing, and a bunch of people trapped inside the church.

I have to say that I really like the first part of the movie, where the knights go and kill everybody. It was beautifully made, and had a great and gory ambience. I wished the entire movie would take place in that time period. I specially liked the scene where a beautiful girl offers some water to a knight and gets killed for being a witch. That girl, whose eyes appear in the image I posted above is Olivia Cupisti. I assume is Barbara Cupisti’s sister (very well known for her roles in italian horror movies), but there isn’t really any information about her, as it seems this was her first and only movie.

I got bored halfway through, and didn’t really care too much about the movie. It seemed to move to slowly. Scene after scene it seemed like something amazing and horrifying was going to happened, but it never did. Maybe it’s just that classic horror movies are like that, they aren’t really scary anymore by today’s standards.

Either way, I have to say that this is one of the movies you have to watch if you’re a true fan of horror movies (specially if you are a fan of classic italian horror movies). So maybe you want to go buy the dvd: The Church dvd or maybe not, it’s your choice.

I think deviantart is an awesome site. There might be a lot of awful art and other stuff over there, but it’s also easy to find tons and tons of amazing stuff, including photography and illustrations. This time, I wanted to share the page of a gorgeous 21 year old model from the UK. She’s quite beautiful and photogenic, and has a ton of great photos of her at her deviantart gallery, so go check it out.

Alivya V Free is a fashion, beauty and alternative model based in Lincoln, UK. She’s also a make up artist and hairstylist. If you’re interested, go to her facebook page and leave a comment, or follow her on twitter. Also, check out her Model Mayhem portfolio.

Bonus: Linda Vs. Lorber 1

It’s a nice short video in black and white, directed by New York fashion photographer David Paul Larson. The gorgeous model is Lauren Young, who looks freaking gorgeous in lingerie playing in some bed sheets. It’s simply dreamy and cute. Bah, you don’t really want me describing the video, just watch it.

The song is Fever, performed by the late great Peggy Lee.

Bonus: Tayane Leao by David Paul Larson

It’s time for some fashion photography. This time, it’s just two photos. But it’s two great photos in black and white. The one above is by Remigiusz Kozdra,a talented fashion photographer from Poland. I really like the hairstyle of the model in that photo, and her look is simply impressive.

The photo featured below is a fantastic portrait by experimental photographer Michael C. Grimley. I love the expression and toughness of the model.

That’s it for today. Enjoy!

So, have you seen Tangled yet? What do you think about it? Did you like it? Leave a comment here and let me know!

It isn’t in theaters over here just yet, and when it is, it’ll probably be available in spanish only (I hate that). Either way, I’m looking forward to watching this movie. It looks cool.
