Via a really cool site I found yesterday: anime backgrounds.
Archives For anime
Short Peace is an animation project that brings together a long list of top anime creators. Brought to you by Katsuhiro Otomo (the mastermind of Akira), it is a collection of four short stories: Combustible, Tsukumo, Gambo and Buki yo Saraba.
Anime News Network has more information about the people being involved with Short Peace, but I’m telling you, all you need to know now is that you will need to watch this film. Read more about it.
The new series in the Ghost in the Shell franchise finally has a teaser trailer. Ghost in the Shell: Arise will consist of four parts of 50 minutes each. The first part, “Ghose Pain” will run in Japanese theaters on June 22. More at Twitch.
This. And suddenly the real world doesn’t exist. I love she’s playing with a Famicom.
It looks like Production I.G. is working on a new anime series for Ghost in the Shell. I’m a big fan of the franchise (is it correct to call it that?) but I’m not sure if I’ll like it. Here’s the photo of Motoko Kusanagi, looking completely different from how she’s been depicted in previous series. Frankly, I don’t like how she looks now, but I’ll wait and see. After all, this is just one image. Who knows, maybe she’s as awesome as she’s always been.
Let me start by saying that it’s not sunny out there today. It’s not important anyway. I just wanted to share some cool art, so here I am. And these are just two cool and pretty illustrations of two pretty girls by the very talented Caleb Thomas.
I was never a big fan of RPGs, because they usually require a lot of time and work. It’s like you have to work on them, instead of just playing and enjoying. This one, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch, might be an exception. The premise and story don’t look that interesting, but the fact that the animation is done by the amazing Studio Ghibli is more than enough to get me interested in it. I think I’ll definitely buy this game for the PS3 when it comes out, but it looks like I still have to wait for a year for that to happen.
I’ve been a fan of Evangelion for more than a decade, although I don’t think I’ve managed to seen the full series and movies during all that time. I just happened to like the characters (Asuka, Ayanami Rei, and the Evas).
On the other side, I also like collecting some hard-to-find things: art books, anime figures, and lately, some anime garage kit.
The little figure above is a garage kit of Rei Ayanami sculpted by the amazingly talented Ishinaga Sakurako. There’s something about that figure that I liked since the first time I saw an image of it in some random site, a couple of years ago. So, it’s been a bit more than two years that I’ve been trying to find and buy it, but it’s impossible to find. I found one a few days ago at yahoo auctions, but I lost my chance because it was a bit more expensive than what I was able to pay at that time.
I’m frustrated, but I’m not losing hope. The only reason I’m writing this post is that maybe, just maybe, there’s someone out there that has this little figure, and is willing to let it go. I want it.
