Another one: Bringing me down, part 2

Monte Montgomery is a critically-acclaimed American musician and songwriter, specializing in the acoustic guitar. He has won the “Best Acoustic Guitar Player” award at the Austin Music Awards seven years in a row, the only artist to have done so. On January 29th, 1999 he appeared following Bruce Hornsby on Austin City Limits, episode #2411 (originally aired on April 17th, 1999).

In 2004, Alvarez Guitars unveiled the MMY1 Monte Montgomery Signature Guitar. Due to his intense playing style, Montgomery has broken the neck of his DY62C model guitar four times. The MMY1 has a reinforced neck to prevent such breakage.

One word: wow! :)

Air Tap

Old video, but it’s really cool. It’s interesting to see how he plays the guitar, though the song gets boring after a while.

He’s cuban, a believer of the revolution. You may not like him, but for this time, put politics aside. He’s a great composer and guitar player. He sings his own songs, though he’s voice is kinda weird, but you’ll learn to like it.

This song is called “Quien Fuera”, and it’s one of the best songs of his. This version is kind of strange and very different to the original one. Hope you enjoy!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Silvio Rodriguez

Another video of Paco de Lucia, undoubtly the best flamenco guitar player in the world. This time, playing live. The guy playing with him is John McLaughlin.

You really have to watch this video, and listen to the great music. It’s amazing, words can’t describe it. Hope you like it. You may also like the super guitar trio. Oh, and you should also watch the interview of them explaining how they had the idea of playing together. Enjoy!

Stevie playing the guitar in MTV’s Unplugged, back in 1990. The person that uploaded this video to youtube said:

Stevie did this Unplugged show in 1990 for MTV. Joe Satriani did some songs before him and after him. SRV played 3 songs, Rude Mood, Pride and Joy and Testify. This is Stevie at his finest (and soberist), a few months before he died.

Paco de Lucia, maestro

Paco de Lucia is a genius, I already posted a few videos of him at the old blog, but as we’re just starting with this one, lets put some music. A video of the great Paco de Lucia and his guitar. Flamenco rules!
