Zero 7, cool music

I recently discovered Zero 7’s album ‘Simple Things’ and enjoying it a lot. Slow, sexy music. It is pretty cool.

I first listened to In The Waiting Line in a fake iphone commercial (by the way, the phone in that commercial is way cooler than the real iphone) . This song also happens to be in the soundtrack of the movie Garden State (another great movie).

Ok, enough words, more music:

If you like it, here are a couple more videos of them: I have seen, Distractions, Home, Somersault, Throw it all away

And some info:

Zero 7 are a downtempo styled musical duo comprising Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker from the United Kingdom. The band’s songs feature vocals from Mozez, Sia Furler, Tina Dico, Sophie Barker, José González, and for the first time, Henry Binns providing backing vocals on the third album, The Garden. Zero 7 are sometimes viewed as the British counterpart to the French downtempo group Air

Not only she looks good, she also sings well. Just look at those eyes, they are beautiful, she’s beautiful all over…but back to her singing, here you got another video of her: time waster

We love pop music

No, not really, I don’t, I swear. But it’s fun to watch videos of pop songs, sometimes. One fact though: this music always sounds the same, it doesn’t matter where the singer is from.

And now, just for you: Kumi Kouda

Kumi Koda (Surname: Koda, First name: Kumiko (shortened: Kumi), Nickname: Kuuchan) is a female Japanese pop singer. She debuted as a singer in 2000 with her single, “TAKE BACK”, but did not achieve success until her seventh single, “real Emotion/1000 no Kotoba”, which was a hit because of its connection with the Playstation 2 videogame, Final Fantasy X-2. Kumi Koda became really popular in Japan in the year 2005, being named one of the best selling artists from the success of a singles compilation album named “BEST ~first things~” and winning several awards that year.

Oscar Brown Jr. introduces Jimmy Smith, the guy who invented Hammond organ jazz. If you start watching the video, keep in mind it’s like 25 minutes.

I hope you don’t mind. I’m no jazz expert, I just enjoy this ‘genre’ as much as many others, and just wanted to share with you some great music.

I just found this at smashingtelly, a great blog that is all about posting videos, but not any kind of videos. According to their introduction:

Smashing Telly is a hand edited collection of the best free, instantly available TV on the web. Not 30 second clips of a dog on a skateboard, or the millionth person to mime the Numa song, but full length programs. Smashing Telly, not Gimmick Telly.
Many of the items that I’ll be putting up on a regular basis are documentaries, since thats what tends to be out there at the moment.

Anyway, enjoy

Real music, some jazz

Just to remember. I don’t know if this one is good or bad, but it’s fun! :)
