The perfect weekend for a wedding, but the storm is coming

link to video

This is not my type of movie, but I might enjoy it, specially because Anne Hathaway is has the leading role, and I have to say, I’m a big fan of her. We’ll have to wait until October to see if this movie is any good (though it looks like it will be).

When Kym returns to the Buchman family home for the wedding of her sister Rachel, she brings a long history of personal crisis and family conflict along with her. The wedding Party’s abundant cast of friends and relations have gathered for an idyllic weekend of feating, music and love, but Kym — with her black-comic one-liners and knack for bombshell drama — is a catalyst for long-simmering tensions in the family dynamic.

Trailer for ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’ - starring Javier Bardem, Patricia Clarkson, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, and Rebecca Hall.

Vicky and Cristina, these two young Americans spend a summer in Spain and meet a flamboyant artist and his beautiful but insane ex-wife. Vicky is straight-laced and about to be married. Cristina is a sexually adventurous free spirit. When they all become amorously entangled, both comedic and harrowing results ensue.

I’m not really a fan of Woody Allen, and I dislike Penelope Cruz quite a bit. BUT, I have to say this movie looks like it’s going to be good. And I can’t forget the fact that there’s at least one kissing scene between Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, which I can’t deny, sounds awesome.

I really enjoyed 28 days later, and the sequel looks pretty cool. Check out the trailer. I hope this movie is sort of good. I hate that about trailers, usually they look 10000 times better than the actual movie.

Oh, and talking about zombies, Resident Evil: Extinction is another one that looks kinda cool.

300

300 is a graphic novel, written and illustrated by Frank Miller with painted colors by Lynn Varley. It depicts the Battle of Thermopylae and the events leading up to it from the perspective of Leonidas, king of Sparta. The comic was particularly inspired by the 1962 film The 300 Spartans, a movie that Miller watched as a young boy.

Every page of the comic was illustrated as a double-page spread. When the series was collected into hardcover form, the individual pages were twice as wide as a normal comic. Miller’s art style for this project was similar to his Sin City work, although the addition of color is an obvious difference.

Taken from wikipedia

Ok, and now, they are making a movie based on the graphic novel. I don’t know what to say, it kinda looks cool, but we’ll see. It seems it has a similar style to Sin City, which was pretty good, so this movie will probably be good, too. Here’s the trailer for 300
